Happy Birthday Momma!!!
(December 3, 2011)
You don’t know this yet, but you are going to have a better year than you think... because…
YOU’RE GOING TO BE A GRANDMA AGAIN… (But the first time from me)
Thinking about becoming a mom has really made me think of the reasons I loved you as a mom!
Here are just a few…
1. I love that you are a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints- and that you introduced it to me. I would be lost without the gospel, and the teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ. I can’t imagine being born to a mother who didn’t believe or even know about the church. There is a good possibility that I could have found the church some other way, but I am so grateful it was by being born to YOU!
2. I love how much you love my husband. I think sometimes you love him more than me, and I am okay with that. It is a compliment and it means a lot!!
3. I love how you have always been so sensitive. Yes, you cry a lot over silly things, and yes, most of the time I laugh. However, I secretly love it, and I always have. It shows who you really are, and how you sincerely care for others…
4. I love that you would do ANYTHING for ANYONE… You literally would give the shirt off your back without thinking twice… I always say if the golden ticket to Heaven were service alone you would be at the front of the line. Thanks for you selfless example!!
5. I love that you trusted me growing up. For some reason it made me want to be a better person, so that I would never let you down…
6. I love that you were close to my friends growing up, and loved them like your own…
7. I love that you always let me have pool parties at our house with unlimited amounts of people…
8. I love that you would come early to pick me up from dance just so you could watch me improve…
9. I love that you made me sell candles door to door so that I could go to Ballet camp in Chicago… (It was a good lesson on the importance of working for what you want)
10. I love that you make Birthday’s and Christmas such a big deal…
11. I loved that you made us girls matching poufy dresses for church, including yourself haha (Ohhh mom). I actually love everything that you have ever sewn for me. Especially my wedding dress. You have an amazing talent!
12. I love that you wrote me every week on my mission… Thanks for the support- it meant a lot!
13. I love that we have the same smile :) or at least similar (I think you have a really pretty smile)
14. I love when you would pick my friends and I up for lunch in Middle School
15. I love that you never missed a dance recital
16. I love that you came to every single cheerleading event that I was ever in. Including, competitions, every Football/basketball game and even wrestling matches…
17. I love that you believed in me, and thought that I could do anything
18. I love that how you made our home, a home where anyone was welcome… I love that you invited anyone to live in our spare bedroom- You were pretty gutsy- I don’t know if I would just invite ANYONE to live with me, but I love that you did- It is another example of how you would give anything to anyone…
19. I love that when we were growing up no matter where we went you knew somebody (You are so popular)
20. I love that you are so upset when I don’t tell you I am running in a Marathon; and I love that you would wait around ALL DAY just to see me cross the finish line…
The list goes on and on… but I just wanted to name a few of my favorites.
I hope to develop these qualities as a mom.
I hope that I can show this new little baby of mine
the most important things in life…
Thanks for your sweet example of so many different things.
I love you mom, have a happy birthday and a wonderful year…
